“On The Courtyard” is a design research book exploring a typology missing from Toronto: the European-style courtyard block. Presented in a tall, vertical format, the book features a special lay-flat binding that allows it to open completely, revealing expansive illustrations and diagrams across full spreads. Produced with meticulous offset printing in Spain and a limited print run, it is as much an object of design as it is a tool for imagining more livable, human-scaled neighborhoods. Through detailed research, expert insights, and compelling visuals, the book invites readers to envision a Toronto where density, design, and community coexist.
