Concept design - LOS ANGELES
Located in the heart of Westwood, this gallery provides flexible display space for contemporary sculpture. Two large cantilevering concrete cores, containing the primary vertical circulation, anchor the building and define the primary exhibition spaces. In addition, they act as the main structural elements supporting the roof structure, reducing the roof spans by extending into the central spaces. The form and exterior envelope are defined by a continuous steel latticework that is pushed and pulled according to the programatic needs of the various spaces, to create specific views and paths for circulation.
